How Stable Is afbackup?

Afbackup has been tested on a wide variety of Un*x platforms including Linux, AIX, IRIX, FreeBSD, Digital Unix (OSF1), Solaris and HP-UX. The client component of afbackup has also been tested on SunOS and OpenBSD.

The core code of afbackup has been running for a wide variety of systems for more than a couple of years now, without problems. Most systems backup several gigabytes of data using afbackup. The code has matured over time with input from both users and developers - which is common to any opensource software.

However, like most other opensource software, do notice that afbackup comes without any warranty. See Section 1.2.5 on page  for the disclaimer that comes along with afbackup.
